Terms of service

These terms cover the HotBot app. Using the velkos.org website is covered separately, by the website terms.

This is a draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and parts of it are out of date — it describes a paid subscription that does not exist yet, and it names no governing law. Treat it as a statement of intent, not as a finished agreement. If anything here matters to you, email luka.velimirovic@velkos.org and ask.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using HotBot (“Service”), provided by PREDUZEĆE ZA PROIZVODNJU PROMET I USLUGE VELKOS DOO EXPORT-IMPORT KOSOVSKA MITROVICA (“Velkos”, “we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users and anyone who accesses or uses the Service.

Description of service

HotBot is an AI-powered conversation-coaching application that helps users craft natural, human-sounding messages. The Service includes:

  • AI-generated response suggestions
  • Explanatory “chain of thought” coaching
  • Conversation syncing across devices

To produce a suggestion, the text you give HotBot is sent to third-party AI providers — currently Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude) and OpenRouter. The HotBot privacy policy lists what each one receives. Using the Service means accepting that this happens.

HotBot is an educational tool. It is not a substitute for professional relationship advice or therapy.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using HotBot, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

Account registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current information
  • Keep your credentials confidential
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized use

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others using generated content
  • Reverse engineer or tamper with the Service
  • Circumvent usage limits or access controls
  • Distribute spam or malicious content
  • Impersonate another person

User content

You retain ownership of content you input (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

We do NOT use User Content to train AI models. See the HotBot privacy policy for more details.

Price

HotBot is currently free. There are no paid plans, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases, we take no payment details, and nothing in the app charges you.

If paid plans are introduced, these terms will be updated with the price, the billing cycle, and the cancellation and refund position before anyone is charged. Continuing to use the free app will never by itself start a payment.

Intellectual property

All content, features, branding, and technology (excluding User Content) are owned by Velkos. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property
  • Use our branding without permission
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated content
  • That the Service will meet your expectations

AI suggestions are not guaranteed to be appropriate or effective for every situation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Velkos shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
  • Any damages arising from your use of AI-generated content

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Velkos from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Data may be deleted per the HotBot privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice.
